FW Abandoned Animal Rescue is a 100% foster-based, 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping abandoned, neglected, and abused animals in the Fort Worth, TX area.
We believe every animal deserves a second chance at life. Through the dedication of our foster families, volunteers, and supporters, we provide safe, loving temporary homes where pets can heal, grow, and prepare for adoption into their forever families.

How We Work
Because we are foster-based, we don’t have a physical shelter location. Instead, every pet in our care lives with a foster family who provides daily love, socialization, and support. This not only saves lives but also helps us truly get to know each animal’s personality, making adoption matches stronger and more successful.

Our Services
LOCAL ADOPTIONS
After our animals are healthy, happy, and adjusted to home life, our goal is to find their forever homes in the local DFW area. Our extensive adoption process allows us to find the best home for each individual animal.
OUT OF STATE TRANSPORT
Pet overpopulation in Texas puts many shelter animals at risk of euthanasia. Transporting them to states in need gives them a second chance and reduces the risk of returning to overcrowded shelters.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Serving Fort Worth and surrounding rural areas, we aim to connect pet owners with the resources and education they need to keep their pets happy and healthy.
Family Pet Care
Family Pet Care is dedicated to providing prestine medical care to all pets whether they are in rescue or individual clients. Their extended hours allow before and after work appointments and the staff goes above and beyond for each pet in their care.
Joey's P.A.W.
Joey’s P.A.W’s mission is to optimize the quality of life of special needs dogs, focusing on the acquisition of mobility assistance devices (prosthetics and wheels) for them.
Foffin
Being retired and with limited resources Michael and Judy decided to start foffin (for our furry friends in need) so they could do more for discarded pets and assist nonprofit rescues.
Burleson Animal Emergency Hospital
BAEH provides our rescue, as well as others, with comprehensive and compasionate care for companion animals around the clock.
